SRINAGAR: Uclean, a major dry cleaning brand, is working to change the laundry service in Kashmir. It already operates from more than 200 addresses in India.
Uclean is using machine equipment from a US-based company Alliance. Along with chemicals that are used for washing is an Australian based company Chem-Dry. The chemicals for washing are mainly used for Lenin wash mainly in hotel carpets of five and seven star-rated hotels.
“This chemical washing makes difference from traditional dry cleaners, which was mainly done with petroleum known as PERC machine. European countries had banned this PERC because being hazardous to health.” Jamshed Nazir, who promotes the concern in Kashmir, said.
Uclean is providing home delivery services, both pickup and return. For this purpose, it had launched an android app.
Uclean costs Rs 90 per kg clothes for washing/dry clean along with steam iron and packing and Rs 60 only for washing and fold. Ladies purse washing costs Rs 99, while school bags Rs 149 and trolley bag Rs 199. The services include all charges pick up and drop. The delivery is done after 48 hours of pick up.
The company had made a special discount of 15% for students who are studying in universities, colleges and tuition centres in the Srinagar city. The services are available only within a distance of 20 km of Srinagar city.
